TL;DR

Too long; didn’t read. Find out about more about the meaning here.

Booking this stay

I booked this stay using Hyatt points before they changed their award-pricing charts, so it was 30,000 points per night. Hyatt is a transfer partner of Chase, which is where I transferred points from, plus I purchased some Hyatt points to top off my account. This is a great redemption option in a city with notoriously high room rates, so I was ecstatic it was available for our dates. Reminder that if a base room at the hotel is available, the hotel has to make it available for a points redemption. Always transfer your points to Hyatt rather than booking through the Chase portal! This same stay would have been hundreds of thousands more points if I booked it through the Chase portal.

Arrival and check-in

We arrived at the hotel at 630am after a red-eye flight from San Francisco, and I was so happy they allowed us to check-in that early. Score! We also upgraded from a base room to a room with a city view, which gave us a nice view of Carnegie Hall.

Park Hyatt king with city view

I love the rooms at the Park Hyatt New York. I think the design is sleek and minimalistic, with a lot of high-quality tech touches. You enter the room via a hallway (it almost feels like you’re entering your very own New York apartment) and there is a king-size bed, desk, reading chair, bar cabinet and spacious bathroom. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I loved that I could control all the lights and shades from the nightstand.

The bathroom is gorgeous and has heated flooring as well as a motion-activated floor lighting if you need to use the bathroom in the middle of the night. The walk-in shower with a rainwater shower head is amazing. Plus, the Le Labo toiletries smelled so good!

I am always impressed with the mini bars at Park Hyatt hotels because their self-branded snacks are delicious and the variety of food/drinks is impressive. Check out the mini-bar in this chic cabinet:

Main property

You enter the hotel on 57th street and take an elevator up a few floors to the reception area. This is also where the main restaurant and bar is located. From there, you take a different set of elevators to the floors with the accommodations. The double elevator is kind of annoying, but thankfully they are very fast.

On the 25th floor is a gorgeous pool with jacuzzi and steam room. It was very popular among guests throughout our stay because it was mostly rainy weather. There is also a spa, salon and full-size gym located on this floor.

Services & amenities

The service at the Park Hyatt New York is top-notch. The team is so friendly and attentive to guest needs, which always makes for a pleasant stay. We requested a late check out of 3pm, which was granted. We also needed help with a dinner reservation one night and the concierge was very helpful. The bellmen at the entrance to the building were always there to offer cold water, umbrellas or help hailing a taxi.

Considerations

The Park Hyatt New York is my favorite city hotel in the US and they have delivered an incredible experience every single time I’ve stayed there. The fact that it’s such a great points value is icing on the cake. I also love the location! The park, Broadway, restaurants and coffee shops are all a quick walk away. And if you need to get downtown there is subway access on the same block.
